About Think Feel Grow

Our vision at Think Feel Grow is for children and young people to learn skills to support their wellbeing and do the things they care about through life’s ups and downs.

Our vision is also for parents and caring adults to have the skills to connect, support and nurture their children in a way that further assists their child’s development, wellbeing and life.

“My aim is to create a safe and supportive space for all children, young people and families, where they feel heard and understood and where we work collaboratively to discover new things, reach goals and build skills.”

Hello!

Renae kolia

Psychologist and Owner

I am a registered psychologist and have worked in the mental health field in various roles for over 12 years. I have a Bachelor of Psychology and Graduate Diploma in Education (School Psychology). I have worked as a school psychologist in primary schools and high schools across Perth, and in private practice.

I am passionate about working with school-aged children and young people and supporting them to discover and develop insight and skills that will help them throughout their lives. I also enjoy working with parents and other caring adults to support them to build skills and understanding to further enhance their parent-child relationship and their child’s wellbeing.

I believe every person has the ability to make meaningful and value-centred decisions about their lives. Therefore, working in partnership with children, young people and families is central to my approach. My role as a psychologist is not to be an expert about a person’s life as that is their role, but to bring my understanding of psychology, development, mental health and wellbeing, to shine a light on certain areas the person or family are raising, and to support them to build their own understanding and to live a meaningful life, whatever that looks like to them.

When I am not working at Think Feel Grow, I enjoy playing with my son, spending time with my family, cooking or baking something new, watching a good TV series, walking by the Swan River, and listening to music

My Approach

I have a gentle and supportive approach. I like to laugh and not be too serious (when it is the right time) and I feel excited and happy seeing children and young people grow. My work draws from various modalities and approaches including acceptance and commitment therapy, self-compassion and mindfulness, the DNA-V model and positive psychology. My supervision work focuses on supporting other therapists to apply ACT and DNA-V with children, teens and parents. I am a Triple P trained facilitator and my parenting-based work draws from this, attachment theory, and Collaborative and Proactive Solutions.
